Andy Robertson has claimed Liverpool are ready to ramp up the intensity in their quest to a silverware at the end of the season.

The Reds are currently topping the Premier League table but with Manchester City still to play their match in hand Jurgen Klopp’s side could slide back to the second place.

Robertson has made the left back position as his own as he has been the preferred choice for Klopp throughout this season. His brilliance for the reds also saw him being handed the Scotland captaincy.

Liverpool had looked destined to seal the title as they had taken a massive seven points lead at one time in the ongoing campaign but a drastic collapse saw City reducing the gap and eventually claiming the top spot by a slender one point.

Robertson said, “People have been quite quick to jump on us and say we’ve been going through a blip at Liverpool and now all of a sudden we’ve come through that,

“It’s part and parcel of football. We had a couple of draws, they were not the worst results. We didn’t play our best but drawing away to Manchester United and Everton are usually good results.

“Because we are in the title race and all of a sudden Manchester City could maybe take over you by a point, it’s deemed as disastrous.

“We’ve had a fantastic season and it’s coming to the bit where we have to step up again and get the trophies that we are going for.

“The lads are full of confidence at Liverpool.”
