Footballing legend Franz Beckenbauer has said that he wants to see Klopp manage Bayern Munich. When Klopp was manager of FSV Mainz, Bayern were interested in signing him. However, Klopp decided to become the manager of Borussia Dortmund instead.
Beckenbauer praised Klopp, crediting him for bringing pace to German football. When asked about the possibility of Klopp managing Bayern Munich, the club’s former President said, “Jurgen Klopp at FC Bayern. That would be the highlight. Jurgen was the one who taught the Germans how to play football quickly.”
Beckenbauer spectated last night’s round of 16 second leg at the Allianz Arena where Klopp’s Liverpool defeated his former team 3-1 and knocked them out of the Champions League. Two goals from Sadio Mane and a header from Virgil van Dijk saw Liverpool reach the quarter-finals of the Champions League. Bayern Munich faced their first round of 16 elimination from the Champions League since 2011.
