The Reds are also open to selling him

Liverpool signed Divock Origi from French club Lille for a reported fee of a £10 million, who signed a five-year contract but was immediately loaned back to the Ligue 1 giants for the 2014–15 season.

But the Belgian struggled for regular game time as he was behind the pecking order, firstly Daniel Sturridge and then Roberto Firmino. He was used predominantly as a substitute and cup player.

The 23 year old joined the German club Vfl Wolfsburg on a season long loan last summer in order to get more first team football. He scored 6 Bundesliga goals and helped the team to maintain their top flight status.

The forward was part of Belgium’s squad at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil, scoring the winner for his country in the 1-0 triumph over Russia in the group stage, but failed to make the cut for this year’s tournament following an indifferent campaign in Germany.

The Belgium International returned to Anfield for pre-season training. He has featured in the pre-season matches but failed to impress as he would have hoped for.

On the other hand, Daniel Sturridge was all set to leave the the club this summer but after an very impressive pre-season Jurgen Klopp is willing to give the England International another chance in the upcoming season.

The Reds already have Roberto Firmino as their first choice striker and have also got Dominic Solanke, who was signed from Chelsea last year. That’s why Klopp is willing to let Origi leave as the European transfer window is still open.

Borussia Dortmund are interested in signing Origi, according to the Liverpool Echo.

They are in the market for a striker, having failed to permanently replace Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang last season. The Reds reportedly want  £27 million for the striker.
