Jurgen Klopp is a manager who energises footballers with his passion and love for the sport. The man has turned a lot of players into world-class stars but the ones who do not share the limelight that much also hail the man’s impact on their careers.

Norwich City have won promotion to the Premier League and one of Klopp’s former players, Mario Vrancic cannot wait to reunite with the Liverpool boss.

“Obviously he has had a big influence in my career, he was my first senior manager, I’ve known him for almost 15 years now,” Vrancic said of Klopp.

Vrancic was handed his debut against Bayern Munich by the Reds manager when he was only 17 years old in the Mainz ranks. After three years, Klopp called up Vrancic’s services when he became the Borussia Dortmund head coach.

“We are still in touch. Obviously, he is one of the most important people in my career. He signed me for Borussia Dortmund when I was in a very difficult situation and gave me kind of a second chance from there. From thereon I developed very well in the right direction and he has had a very huge influence on my career.”

“I’m just looking forward to playing against each and every team, regardless of whether it’s at the Etihad or Old Trafford, or Carrow Road, which is very nice to play at,” he said.

“As a young player I became a pro at 16 and didn’t know how to handle certain situations and my development wasn’t like everyone expected it,” the Canaries midfielder further added.

“As a young player you are not used to the load in training sessions, I was injured for a few years very often, but I got used to it and got better.”
