Former Chelsea player Craig Burley feels that Liverpool will lose to Bayern Munich because they are more focused on winning the Premier League this season.

Liverpool drew 0-0 against Bayern Munich at Anfield last month and play the second leg on Wednesday. The Reds willl be entering the match at the back of a 4-2 win over Burnley.

However, Burley believes Jurgen Klopp’s side will lose. The former Scotland international said, “I know they [Liverpool] got back to winning ways at the weekend but they’re still trailing Man City. They weren’t playing super convincingly against Burnley. And Bayern are back now, they’re joint top of the Bundesliga with [Borussia] Dortmund, they got six at the weekend, the players are all happy.

[Thomas] Muller is back in the side, James [Rodriguez] is playing well, it’s a real, real difficult one [for Liverpool]. Liverpool are going to play on the counter.

I was disappointed with Liverpool at Anfield, I really thought they were going to go for the jugular, get the crowd behind them and pressurise Bayern early on, but that didn’t happen. I think the pendulum has swung back in Bayern’s favour, particularly with the game being at home, and with Liverpool having to focus on the Premier League.”
