James Milner believes Manchester City would return pretty strongly when they host Tottenham Hotspur again in the Premier League.

Despite their 4-3 win over Spurs City’s hopes of claiming a quadruple dashed as the North Londoners edged out the English champions on away goals. Raheem Sterling kept on his scoring boots as the English international netted a brace in this high scoring match.

Bernardo Silva and Sergio Aguero found their name on the score sheet while Heung-Min Son hit the City goal twice and Fernando Llorente scored the decisive goal as Spurs edged towards their first European trophy.

The Sky Blues will now shift their focus towards the Premier League and will have the perfect opportunity to avenge their Champions League disappointment.

The Liverpool midfielder said, “They’re Premier League champions for a reason so I’m sure they’ll react like champions and go again at the weekend

“But Spurs will have their backs up as well and want to bounce back and go again after a great result getting through.

“They’re two top teams and I’m sure it will be an exciting game for the neutral.

“Obviously it’s disappointing for them (Manchester City) and they’ll be pushing hard for the remaining games of the season.

“We can keep one eye on it but all we can do is concentrate on our games, we can control what our results are.”
