Liverpool boss, Jurgen Klopp has declared that Alisson will play as Liverpool’s No.1

Alisson will be Liverpool’s No. 1 goalkeeper and Loris Karius will play as a backup plan for Alisson after the Brazilian goalkeeper’s world-record transfer to Anfield.

The German boss has made Alisson his first choice for the upcoming season, but has also desired to give the Karius another chance to prove his worth for his stay to continue at Anfield.

Alisson signing to Liverpool club has been the most expensive goalkeeper signing. The contract includes his six-year deal with the Anfield club. He has been signed for £65 million.

The Alisson move has marked an end for Karius’s Liverpool’s first goalkeeper choice. Karius had a nightmare game against Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League which the Reds lost 3-1.

Karius fault paved way for Real Madrid’s opening strike when he passed the ball to Benzema to intercept and score. He also fumbled to Bale’s long kick which resulted in Madrid’s third goal.

Karius was facing embarrassment since the finals at Kiev and now has lost his first choice spot at Anfield since the arrival of Alisson.

In talks with Sky Sports, Klopp admitted that Alisson will be there first choice.

He said, We brought in Alisson and it is clear that he will be our number one, otherwise, you don’t pay that kind of money”

“For Loris Karius, this transfer is not so great. When you sign the Brazilian number one you don’t tell him he has six weeks to prove himself”

“Still, we have enough matches so everybody can play. He still has the possibility to develop. He is a great keeper and he can still show that with us in the future.”
