Jurgen Klopp provides update on Oxlde-Chamberlain’s progress ahead of the Manchester United game

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp opened up about the recovery midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and how close he is to return to first-team action ahead of their game against Manchester United.

The former Arsenal player was one of the key players in the Liverpool team in the second half of last season.

But he suffered a nasty ACL injury in the first leg of the Champions League semi-final against Roma in April 2018 and was ruled out for nine months.

The Englishman has recovered from injury and is making good progress in the training ground.

Asked about as to when we can see the midfielder back playing for Liverpool, Klopp told Liverpool’s official website:

“We don’t have to talk about Ox at the moment because he needs a bit of time.

“He looks so good in training but we need to make him resistant for all the things that are coming up.”

Liverpool play Manchester United in one of the biggest games of the season. They are currently second in the table on goal difference, but have game in hand which they will play today.

The Reds have a game against Watford awaiting in three days time, before a trip to Goodison Park for the Merseyside derby.
