The Reds had an excellent summer transfer window

Liverpool were expected to strengthen the squad this summer after an excellent campaign last season, as they reached the Champions League final but were beaten by Real Madrid.

Club’s manager Jurgen Klopp issued a statement of intent by bolstering the squad in the transfer window, signing 4 new players and bolstering the particular weak areas.

He splashed out over £170 million to secure the signings of midfielder Naby Keita from RB Leipzig, versatile Fabinho from Monaco, winger Xherdan Shaqiri from Stoke City and goalkeeper Alisson Becker from Roma.

The manager is yet to win a silverware since he took over the charge of the Premier League giants, reaching three finals and is keen to mount a Premier League title charge.

The Anfield Outfit have been tipped as one of the favourites to win the Premier League title in this season. However, Klopp claimed earlier that the club remains underdog in the title race.

The Reds opened their campaign with a 4-0 thrashing of West Ham last weekend and Former West Ham and Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp reckons they will win the league this season.

“I fancy Liverpool this year,” he told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast. “I like the look of them. I think they will run Manchester City very close.

“You look at their forward power now, the front three are incredible, Daniel Sturridge came off the bench the other day and scored and Xherdan Shaqiri is there, he’s another player with great ability.

“I think they could be real threat this season to Manchester City. If they’re going to do it, it’s going to be this season.

“I think this could be Liverpool’s year to win a championship again.”
