According to reports from the Sun, Liverpool have joined the race to sign Ajax star David Neres. Ajax have a had a dream of a 2018/19 season as they have a chance of clinching a treble.

Several Ajax players are linked to top European clubs while midfielder Frenkie de Jong has already agreed a deal with Barcelona and will join the club next season.

David Neres has been an integral part of Ajax since joining the club from Sao Paulo in 2017. So far, Neres has made 99 appearances for Ajax, scoring 29 goals and providing 32 assists.

David Neres has been one of Ajax’s star performers this season with 12 goals and 15 assists in 50 appearances across all competitions. His performances for Ajax earned Neres his first call-up to the Brazil national team. Neres made his international debut in a friendly against Czech Republic where he made a contribution to two goals in an eventual 3-1 victory for Brazil.

Neres is an extremely talented winger who can play as both a left winger and a right winger. Liverpool stars Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane are both linked to a move to Real Madrid. Should one of them leave, Neres could be an ideal replacement.

However, it won’t be easy for Liverpool to sign Neres as several clubs are interested in signing him. These include Chelsea, Real Madrid and Arsenal.
