Liverpool make a move for Hudson-Odoi

Premier League leaders Liverpool have made a late attempt to convince Chelsea winger Callum Hudson-Odoi to snub Bayern Munich and move to Anfield, Metro reports.

The 18-year-old is expected to leave Stamford Bridge this month after the German giants have made four transfer bids, the last of which went up to £35m.

The report says that the Munich side will face competition from the Reds. Though Chelsea would be reluctant to sell their player to a Premier League rival.

Liverpool’s representatives have met with Hudson-Odoi and his brother Bradley, who is also his agent, at the start of this month.

On the other hand, the Blues have offered the teenager a contract worth £70,000-a-week, but the player has made it clear that his priority is first-team opportunities, not the money.

He has only made three league under Maurizio Sarri this season, and his not convinced that his development would be best served in west London.

Liverpool have snapped two Chelsea youngsters Rhian Brewster and Dominic Solanke in the past few years. Jurgen Klopp is a type of manager who provides opportunities to young players to prove themselves on the big stage.

The Reds have a formidable attack but they lack backup options, hence, it would make sense to sign an exciting winger who is eager to learn and make a name for himself in world football.

The January transfer window still has a week left, and we can expect anything to happen.

Liverpool have returned from their warm-weather trip to Dubai, and begin their preparations for the upcoming league game against Leicester City at Anfield next Wednesday night.
