According to reports in England, Liverpool have placed a price tag of £15 million on goalkeeper Simon Mignolet. Mignolet joined Liverpool from Sunderland in 2013 on a fee of £9 million.

The Belgian was a regular for Liverpool until last season when Loris Karius replaced him as Liverpool’s first-choice keeper. However, following the arrival of Alisson, Mignolet has played second fiddle to the Brazilian.

This season, Mignolet has only made two appearances for Liverpool in their EFL Cup match against Chelsea and their FA Cup match against Wolves. On both occasions, Liverpool lost 2-1.

Given the way Alisson has performed, there’s no question that Mignolet does not have a future at Liverpool at present.

Despite barely using him all season, Liverpool have placed a price tag of £15 million on the Belgian and will let him go if that price is met.

Mignolet’s currrent contract at Liverpool expires in 2021 so Liverpool will be looking to offload him before then.

Simon Mignolet was Liverpool’s starting goalkeeper during the 2013-14 Premier League where they came second and also during their run to the Europa League Final in the 2015-16. Besides, he also frequently finds a place in the Belgium squad. Hence, some clubs may be eager to sign him. Although, it is highly unlikely that any club would be willing to pay £15 million for a player who has made only two appearances in the past year and a half.
