Former Barcelona and Chelsea striker, Samuel Eto’o has urged Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah to make the switch to the Camp Nou this summer.
The Egyptian has been a subject of interest for the Spanish rivals, Real Madrid but no offers have been made yet. He has scored an incredible 71 times in 104 appearances for the Reds, ever since signing for them two seasons back.
Salah’s sheer scoring threat has boosted Liverpool’s attacking quality and has been instrumental in them claiming their 6th Champions League trophy this past campaign. Many believe that he is destined for higher recognization at the Santiago Bernabeu at some point of his career but Eto’o believes he is a better fit at Barcelona.
The ex-Cameroon international stated, “Barcelona would be a better fit. Real gave me the opportunity to leave Africa but I know Barcelona’s style and I think it would be better for him.
“If he has the chance to play in the best league of the world, which is the Spanish one, he has to sign for Barcelona. Mo has everything to be one of the best players in the world.”
There is a sense of uncertainty over where Eto’o is coming from since Barcelona employs an attacking powerhouse like Lionel Messi. With the Argentinian in the left flank and a fully stacked squad, it is difficult to see how Salah would fit into the Blaugrana’s style of play.
