According to DHNet, Liverpool have forwarded an offer for Borussia Mönchengladbach winger, Thorgan Hazard.

The Belgian is currently being pursued by a number of European outfits after the player declined to sign an extension. His current deal is set to expire in July 2020.

After scoring 12 and assisting 11 in 29 appearances this term, Hazard has come very close to finalising a move to rival outfit, Borussia Dortmund.

Lucien Favre’s side sold Christian Pulisic to Chelsea this past January and has picked the 26-year-old as his replacement. However, a move is yet to be finalised with the Reds reportedly interfering with a new sizeable offer.

Dortmund are ready to pay £34m for Eden Hazard’s little brother. We will have to see if Liverpool will better that offer in the coming weeks. The player himself is not interested in moving to Anfield since he will not be guaranteed a starting spot.

Borussia Monchengladbach sporting director Max Eberl has already confirmed that the Belgian does not wish to sign an extension.

“He wants to leave Borussia after five years because he wants to take the next step for himself,” said Eberl.

“We signalled to him long ago that we would like him to sign a contract extension, but he hasn’t responded to that. He’s got a contract with us and there’s no exit clause in it.

“Any interested parties must offer us a transfer fee that does justice to his value as an outstanding attacking player in the Bundesliga and one who is a regular starter is one of the best national teams in the world.”
