According to the latest reports, Liverpool are looking to bag £20m from the sale of Marko Grujic.

The Serbian midfielder is currently on a season-long loan spell with Hertha Berlin, having made 18 appearances this term.

He has expressed his desires to stay with the Bundesliga outfit for longer. When asked if his time with Hertha is about to get over after this campaign, Grujic said, “I hope not. Because I feel very comfortable in Berlin. Hertha gave me the great opportunity to play in the Bundesliga.

“I’m still pretty young, for me this time at Hertha – with the exception of injuries – has been brilliant so far to show my qualities.

“Ultimately, it’s not up to me. But if I could choose myself, I would stay with Hertha for another year, or maybe even two years, to make a very good name for myself by improving all my qualities. And that’s only possible if you play in every game.”

Grujic is highly regarded by the Hertha manager, Pal Dardai. He was also coveted by Jurgen Klopp himself who made the midfielder his first signing as Liverpool boss.

Unfortunately, Grujic’s time with the Reds did not go according to plan, making only 14 appearances. With players like Fabinho and Naby Keita already brought into the club, he might not have a shot at one of the starting spots.

His sale might help the Merseyside outfit to reinvest in more pressing needs like a backup striker or even a centre-back.
