Liverpool vice-captain James Milner said that his team should have netted a few more goals against Arsenal yesterday. Liverpool and Arsenal drew 1-1 at the Emirates in an exciting encounter.

Milner gave Liverpool the lead in the 61st minute by scoring his 50th Premier League goal. However, Arsenal found an equaliser in the 82nd minute thanks to Alexandre Lacazette.

Liverpool had several scoring opportunities throughout the match and also had a goal by Sadio Mane wrongfully ruled offside.

Virgil van Dijk came close to scoring on multiple occasions.

Following the match, James Milner was not too happy with the result as he thought his team should have cashed on the scoring chances they got.

Milner said, “[We are] very disappointed really, which is a good thing I suppose, playing away at Arsenal. To be 1-0 up in the second half and not see it out, we are disappointed. With the chances we created we should have scored a few more goals.

It’s pleasing we are creating those chances, but we could have been a bit more ruthless and maybe not put as much pressure on ourselves not to concede to win the game.”

Liverpool are currently at the top of the Premier League table. However, they could go down to third as both Manchester City and Chelsea have easy matchups.

Liverpool’s next Premier League fixture is against Fulham next Sunday. Before that, they play a Champions League fixture against Red Star Belgrade on Tuesday.
