Naby Keita scored his first Champions League goal for Liverpool during Tuesday’s 2-0 win over FC Porto but the Guinea international is not happy just yet.

He was signed for £52.75m last summer and the midfielder is still only a rotational option for Jurgen Klopp.

“When you hear things like that about yourself, you just have to carry on and try to do more,” said Keita. “You can’t stop and you can’t be happy with it. I am happy people appreciate me – and what it does for me is give me more desire to work harder and do more.

“Yes, of course, I’m happy (with my form). When you do some good things you have to carry on, you must not stop and be happy with just that. If I do good things, I have to carry on working.

“For me, it is nothing (at the moment), I am going to carry on training and following the advice of the manager during the sessions – and that’s it.”

Keita further added, “No, we won’t be watching Manchester City – we will just try to concentrate on our match ahead. We will look at the numbers at the end of the season. That’s it.

“As the coach tells us every day, we have to concentrate on what we’re facing next, the match that is in front of us. You concentrate, you play, you try to win and we will see at the end of the season.”
