According to reports from the Metro, PSG midfielder Adrien Rabiot has turned down an approach from Tottenham Hotspur as he is looking to secure a move to Liverpool.

In the past couple of months, there has been plenty of talk about Rabiot’s future. The 23-year old has made 20 appearances for the Parisians this season, scoring and assisting twice. He hasn’t made a single appearance for PSG since early December when he made a substitute appearance in their final Champions League group game against Red Star Belgrade.

Rabiot hasn’t even made to Thomas Tuchel’s squad for more than a month now. Last month, PSG sporting director Antero Henrique said that the midfielder hasn’t signed a contract and wants to leave the club. It seemed that he would join Barcelona at the end of the season. However, there hasn’t been much progress in that move.

Hence, Tottenham Hotspur made an attempt to sign him but Rabiot is not eager to move to North London and prefers playing under Liverpool.

Earlier, Liverpool were one of the clubs who showed interest in Rabiot. As a matter of fact, there were reports claiming that Liverpool had held discussions with PSG over a potential move for Rabiot.

A move to Liverpool however, may not benefit Rabiot greatly as far as game time is concerned. Liverpool have a star-studded midfield with the likes of Naby Keita, Jordan Henderson, Georginio Wijnaldum, Fabinho and James Milner. Hence, Rabiot will have to compete with all of them and it won’t be easy for him to find a place in the playing XI.
