Liverpool legend Phil Thompson has asked Jurgen Klopp to drop midfielder Fabinho or Jordan Henderson for the home game against Burnley.
“I think the area now is going to be looked at,” Thompson said. “You would imagine the front three are going to start. So it’s that area just in behind and what Jurgen Klopp is going to come up with. Henderson and Fabinho for me are too similar for a game like this at home. You’ve got to change that, only one of them can play.”
The Reds started the season brightly but have faltered away of late. They began the New Year by going seven points clear at the top but now find themselves four points behind Manchester City.
Their main problem this season has been to break the deadlock in some matches as opposed to last season when they were scoring for fun. The general idea behind this was that Jurgen Klopp wanted to strengthen the defence and has made adjustments to his team for that.
However, as it seems, it has cost them a few goals and Thompson feels one way to solve it would be to not play Henderson and Fabinho together.
