Olympique Lyonnais president, Jean-Michel Aulas revealed that top Liverpool target, Nabil Fekir has been allowed to leave the Ligue 1 club this summer.

This could be a huge boost for the Reds to have a second run at the Frenchman after failing to sign him last summer.

Fekir was inches away from finalising a deal with Liverpool before the transfer got killed by the Merseyside outfit. The Premier Leauge outfit had concerns over his fitness relating to a knee issue.

Plenty of other reports claim that Jurgen Klopp might be looking to reignite his interest in the attacking midfielder who was previously picked to replace Philippe Coutinho.

“Effectively, Nabil is outside [of the two departures expected], because we have an understanding that he can go,” Aulas said following Friday’s 3-2 win over Nimes. “Thanks, Nabil for bringing what he brought, we have an understanding to let him go.”

“We will work on making signings. We are going to try to lose as few players as possible. We are also going to strengthen,” he added. “We are quickly going to have it out with [new sporting director] Juninho and [head coach] Sylvinho.”

Fekir had another impressive campaign, scoring 12 and laying out 9 assists in 39 games this season. Now that the Reds have missed out on Julian Brandt, Klopp should rethink his plans with the 25-year-old who could be available for an even lesser amount this time.
