When Liverpool entered Anfield last night, there was tension all around.

Liverpool knew they were chasing a shadow of a game and a minute slip might cost them the little chances and hopes they had.

Barcelona had taken a solid 3-0 lead in the first half which meant that Liverpool could not afford to concede even once lest they scored 5.

So Liverpool were ready to be cautious. Aggressive but careful. Nothing smart or cheeky. Well until 80 minutes at least. By then the Reds had put on a fiery display and played Barcelona off the pitch. The scorelines were level and Liverpool pulled one ahead thanks to a moment of school boy discipline from Barcelona and a brilliantlu instinctive cheeky place of play from Origi and Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Asked about the corner, Alexander-Arnold told BT Sport: “I think it was just instinctive. It was just one of those moments where you see the opportunity and obviously Div was switched on to finish it off. It probably came at him a bit fast but he’s a top player, scored two goals for us and I think it’s one of them where everyone will remember this moment.”
