Alexander-Arnold has ‘put the ball in Liverpool’s court’ regarding his future.
Liverpool’s Alexander Arnold is likely to leave the club next summer as he is heavily linked with Real Madrid. Los Blancos consider him as the backup option for the future.
The Englishman will see his contract expire at the end of the season. It means he will be allowed him to speak openly to other club’s in January about a potential free transfer.
Alexander-Arnold has made more than 300 appearances for the club and has been an active asset for England national team. He won all major trophies for the club including Premier League and Champions League.
The Reds right-back also helped the club to a domestic club double, winning both the FA Cup and EFL Cup in 2022.
According to the Football Insider, the 25-year-old defender has ‘put the ball in Liverpool’s court’ regarding his future. He admitted, “I want to be a Liverpool player this season [at the minimum] is what I will say.”
Arnold wants the Merseyside club to regularly compete at the very highest level if he is to commit his long-term future to the club. He added more, “I want to win trophies, I am a player who is highly motivated by winning things and being elite.”
