The defender urges his teammates to not further drop points in the second half of the season.

The Reds will be without Mo Salah, Naby Keita and Sadio Mane for the entire month of January due to their participation in AFCON with their respective nations.

The Merseyside outfit has dropped points in their last weekend clash against Chelsea and Alexander Arnold has called out his squad to cut it short.

Liverpool should be ready to capitalise on any goof-ups Manchester City did in the remainder of the 2021/22 season.

“There’s not really much we can do except try to win as many games as we can between now and the end of the season,” Trent told the official LFC site.

“We are just past the halfway point so a lot can happen between now and May.

“We make sure we focus on ourselves, make sure we stay as close to them as we can, but it will be difficult and we need teams to beat them for us.

“But it’s about us making sure we are in a position to capitalise if they do drop points.”
