Alisson Becker just became the first goalkeeper to win three Golden Gloves within one season as Brazil gets ready to take on Peru in the Copa America final.

The Brazilian has enjoyed a grand success in the 2018/19 campaign but this final international tournament has turned out to be the cherry on top. He is yet to concede a goal in the South American tournament and he is destined to win the best goalkeeper award regardless of Brazil winning the ultimate trophy.

He has already collected the two awards in the Champions League and the Premier League. He registered 21 cleansheets in the league and for club and country, has maintained 9 consecutive ones till now.

It is fair to say that Alisson has more than justified the £67m Liverpool paid for him last summer. And to make it even better, the shot-stopper is still only 26 years old. He is well into his prime and can only get better from here on out.

Jurgen Klopp has turned things completely around at Anfield and Philippe Coutinho’s departure now seems to have been a blessing in disguise. With the playmaker’s £142m transfer, the Reds reinvested in Virgil van Dijk and the Brazilian keeper.

A year later, they are getting drowned in confetti after lifting the European trophy.
