The Liverpool goalkeeper is said to be ruled out for the upcoming Champions League match – Liverpool vs Atletico Madrid – at Anfield.

Alisson has been out for past two games due to his hip injury. He won’t be appearing for both the Everton tie on Monday and the Atletico Champions League second-leg clash on Wednesday.

Adrian will be again be filling in for Alisson as the goalkeeper.

Alisson was also unable to make it to the World Cup qualifiers against Bolivia and Peru for the Brazilian national team on March 28 and April 1st. He has played 28 times for the Reds, however, he came down with his hip injury during his training – before the FA Cup tie at Stamford Bridge took place. Chelsea ultimately won the match with a score of 2-0, registering another defeat for the Reds.

In 2018, Alisson became one of the most expensive goalkeepers in the world – when he came to Liverpool from AS Roma for a fee of £66.8m. The record was broken by the signing of Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa, who came for 79.1 million pounds.

Alisson had also come down with a calf injury during the opening Premier League match against Norwich City – and he missed close to three months of the season. Hopefully, he can recover faster than that now, but there’s no confirmation.
