Alisson praises the incredible atmosphere supporters create at Anfield

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker praises the incredible atmosphere supporters create at Anfield and says that it will help the team in their chase for the Premier League title and going deep in the Champions League.

The Reds are currently level on points with leaders Manchester City, but are behind on goal difference, having played a game less.

They have a Champions League last-16 tie against German giants Bayern Munich awaiting in few days time.

Alisson calls the Liverpool fans to create a daunting atmosphere against the Bavarians, just like they did in the run-in last season.

Speaking to the club’s official website, the Brazilian said:

“It’s difficult to play against Liverpool. The quality of the team is amazing. And then the 12th player, outside the pitch, that is the supporters.

“Last year, I can remember about the semi-finals that they played against us, it was difficult. It was an unbelievable atmosphere. It was incredible.

“I like to play with supporters of the other team shouting, talking to me, [it gives me incentive]. But here was something different.

“When I signed, when I wanted to come here and I knew about the interest of Liverpool, yes, for sure [that experience was a factor].

“We players, we want a team that wants you, a team with quality with a good manager and with great supporters. I think here at Liverpool you have maybe the biggest supporters in the world.”

Liverpool play Bayern in the first leg of the Champions League at Anfield on Tuesday, before visiting Old Trafford for an all-important league game against Manchester United on Sunday.
