Arne Slot admits he has already talked to Darwin Nunez.
Liverpool boss Arne Slot has made a call on players’ positions ahead of the new season. He has started preparation for the upcoming season. The Dutch manager even talked with some players and worked on them during pre-season camp.
Arne Slot admits he has already talked to Darwin Nunez and made it very clear where he’s playing next season. The Uruguayan will join the Reds squad after the end of Copa America 2024. His side has qualified into the semifinals of the competition.
Nunez is in great form for his country and he is almost a different player to the one we’ve seen at Anfield. Slot talked to the Telegraph, “I assume he will fit really well into this [playing style] because I like him. I’ve told him already,” said Slot, per the Telegraph.
“He is one of the players I have spoken to. He might have had some struggles with finishing opportunities, but he came a lot of times into those positions. It’s clear for him which position he is going to play. It’s clear for me as well and me telling him made it clear for him.
“I just told him that, from what I saw, he played multiple positions and I told him what positions – or position – I see him playing.”
