Trent Alexander-Arnold has fired a warning to title rivals Manchester City saying that Liverpool have learnt from their past mistakes and will be difficult to beat this season.

The Kop are currently perched atop the Premier League table with an eight-point lead over the Citizens, having won all of their eight league games. However, the Merseysiders are well aware that the title race is far from over, given how they lost a seven-point lead to City and ended as runners up last season.

“The players that we have in our side have all had failures before, we’ve all had setbacks and knockbacks,” he told Premier League Productions.

“We’ve really bounced back from there and got to where we are now and where we are as a team.”

“The biggest example of that is probably the fact that we lost the Champions League final the season before and were able to use that as motivation to get back there and win it the next season.”

“It’s something a lot of teams aren’t capable of, but we’ve shown that we are and we’re able to get better from disappointment.”

Liverpool will resume their Premier League campaign when they face Manchester United this weekend.
