Roma are reportedly targeting Liverpool defender Kostas Tsimikas as they look to bolster their defence

Tsimikas has showed flashes of being a quality full-back, but his game time has been restricted this season owing to Andy Robertson being selected ahead of him.

Tsimikas has matured in the manner that Jurgen Klopp desired, and he now gives a reliable alternative at left back when needed. The value of the Greek full-back has undoubtedly improved throughout this time, and there may be a chance in the market for Liverpool to benefit handsomely.

If he wants to play regular first-team football this summer, the Greek left-back may seek elsewhere. Jose Mourinho, according to Calcio Mercato, wants to bring Tsimikas to Italy.

With Liverpool contending for championships virtually every season, the 25-year-old may be content to remain on the bench and play second fiddle to Robertson. Tsimikas, who has only made seven league starts this season, may have to go elsewhere if he wants to advance.

Liverpool may be hesitant to move their Greek defender if they don’t want to repeat their error at right-back. Despite having Trent Alexander-Arnold at right back, they opted to let Neco Williams depart on loan, which has caused problems for Jurgen Klopp.

When Alexander-Arnold is sidelined, Joe Gomez and James Milner have had to play out of position at right-back.
