Bayern Munich Boss Preparing For Life Without Thiago As Anfield Move Lingers

Liverpool have still not moved on Thiago Alcantara despite such strong links this summer.

Reports have indicated earlier that the Spaniard is looking to move on from Bayern Munich due to uncertainty of a starting spot next season.

Hansi Flick’s comments on the player has not eased the heavy speculation either. The Bavarians boss is aware that Thiago’s future is uncertain in Munich and is already preparing for life after him.

“I can understand when a player is concerned,” Flick said. “Thiago played in Spain for FC Barcelona and in the Bundesliga for FC Bayern Munich. “If he wants to try again in the Premier League now, I totally understand. But it would be a shame because Thiago gives our game that certain something. That’s why I would like to have him as a coach on the team for the next few years, but that’s life. It would go on.”

Liverpool were heavily tipped to sign the 29-year-old for a fee of around £30 million. Jurgen Klopp admires the midfielder and could use his service to revamp this title-winning side. The Reds undoubtedly need reinforcements to keep their championship pedigree chugging along to the next campaign. While their current squad is quite strong, fans would not mind seeing more quality and depth added to certain positions.

Thiago at this age will bring with him a daunting level of creativity and dominance to this Liverpool midfield, not to mention his experience at the very top level of football. Hansi Flick refused to discuss further on the player’s future as he plans to see out the club’s Champions League campaign. Perhaps, we can expect more movement on this transfer after Bayern’s season is wrapped up.
