Enzo Fernandez is Liverpool’s primary target for 2023 and they are keen to sign him in winter transfer window. Now, there is a new update in the story.

Benfica manager Roger Schmidt has confirmed what teams must do if they want to sign Enzo Fernandez. Liverpool has to meet Benfica’s demand if they want to get him on board.

Liverpool will also face the task with rival clubs Manchester United and Chelsea. They all have been in pursuit of the Argentine following his excellent performances at the World Cup. He was named Young Player of the Tournament.

“It’s a very clear situation. What the club is doing, who wants to buy Enzo, is disrespectful against all of us, against Benfica. And I cannot accept what they are doing.

“To make the player crazy, then to pretend they can pay the clause, then later they want to negotiate, is not what I understand to be a good relationship between clubs who want to discuss about the player.”

Liverpool require a player like him as they currently rely on injury-prone players or youngsters with little experience. The 21-year-old can add value to Jurgen Klopp’s squad.
