Emre Can believes he completed his duties at Liverpool before moving to Juventus.

The midfielder didn’t sign a contract extension and went on to join the Italian giants last year. He appeared in 167 matches for the Reds netting 14 goals over the course of four seasons.

Despite moving to Turin on a free transfer the 25 year old has started just 19 games in the Serie-A this season. His prolific performance in the middle of the pitch helped Liverpool in reaching the Europa League and Champions League final where they tasted defeat.

The German international lifted the Italian title with Juventus this season but failed to get past the quarter final stage in Europe’s premier competition.

Can said, “I can still remember when I came to Liverpool. I was only 20 years old and many people in Germany said: ‘Why is he doing that now? He is only 20, it is too early to go abroad’.

“But I was sure that I could make it there. I wanted to do that and because of that I went there and looking back it was exactly the right step.

“I proved myself there like in every team I have played in until now.”
