Michael Owen and Aldrige has had their say on the bust up at Anfield between Mo Salah and Sadio Mane.

The Senegalese was livid at the Egyptian after Salah failed to pass the ball to Mane inside the box despite the former Southampton forward being free inside the box. Instead Salah chose to dribble the pall himself and shoot at goal, an effort which was easily blocked by Burnley defenders.

As a result, Mane was furious and was clearly fuming when subbed off and was seen making vivid gestures at Salah’s selfishness once taken off and brought to the bench.

Kop favourite Aldridge said: “I was lucky enough to win the Golden Boot and that gives you the desire to do it year in, year out.

“There’s nothing wrong with a healthy rivalry to score goals. The Liverpool front three of Salah, Mane and Firmino are amazing and who cares if they have the odd disagreement.”

Owen, who was covering the Turf Moor game as a pundit and witnessed the Mane bust-up first hand, added: “I saw it coming.

“Usually there is a balance with your strikers. One is selfish and the other is unselfish. I was at my best with Emile Heskey who was really unselfish and I was the selfish one.”
