Fabio Carvalho ended his loan spell with RB Leipzig in January.

The Portuguese midfielder was shipped out to Bundesliga giants RB Leipzig on a season-long deal this summer for the 2023-24 campaign.

But he was recalled back from the German side after not getting enough playing time at the club.

The 21-year-old made 15 appearances for Marco Rose’s side since arriving in Germany but struggled to bag a goal or an assist.

Carvalho only played for 158 minutes in the Bundesliga and 121 minutes in the Champions League for RB Leipzig this season.

The young midfielder was signed by Liverpool in the summer of 2022 from Fulham in a deal worth £5m.

Liverpool will send Carvalho on a temporary loan for the second half of the campaign and Hull City are favourties to sign the talented midfielder.

This is according to Fabrizio Romano who claims his deal with Hull City will be finalised in the coming days.

Romano said: “Yes, this is almost done. The player has permission and will now travel to complete his medical at Hull. He had many possibilities, such as Wolves in the Premier League, and he also had some possibilities in the Championship with Leeds and Southampton. Many different clubs wanted him.

“They decided on Hull with the player’s agent and the club because Liverpool wanted guaranteed game time for Carvalho. So, it will be a straight loan with no buy option for Hull.”

It will be fascinating to see the talented midfielder revive his career in the second half of the 2023/24 campaign.
