Gini Wijnaldum’s future remains uncertain with no major revelations.
The 30-year old midfielder has been linked with a move away from Anfield in the summer.
FC Barcelona are favourites in signing the Dutch international but no further progress has been made between both the clubs.
Fabrizio Romano explained: “[The] last proposal from Liverpool some months ago was the same contract with the same salary he has right now for three years so Wijnaldum was not so happy with this proposal. So at the moment there is no agreement between Wijnaldum and Liverpool. His agents are talking with Barcelona people but there is nothing signed because it depends on [Ronald] Koeman.
“Koeman wants Wijnaldum but there is still nothing decided also on Barcelona’s side so it’s a moment of talks but [it’s a] complicated situation with Liverpool and Barcelona leading the race but there is nothing signed yet with Wijnaldum and when you have free agents, you have to be careful until they sign the contract because they can change their mind in five minutes, so everything is open, but at the moment, no agreement with him.”
