Fabrizio Romano weighs in on Simone Inzaghi’s potential move to Liverpool
Fabrizio Romano, a reputable journalist, wrote on the speculation linking Inter Milan’s Simone Inzaghi to Liverpool’s empty management position.
Inzaghi, who has been crucial to Inter’s great season, directing them to an 11-point lead in Serie A, has been considered as Jurgen Klopp’s successor.
“Another name for the Liverpool job coming up in reports is Simone Inzaghi,” stated by Romano.
“However, I’m not aware of anything concrete so far on this one, also because Inzaghi is fully focused on Inter and on winning the Serie A title.
“My understanding is also that Inter will offer him new deal in the upcoming weeks, so the situation is currently quiet; let’s see if he will receive concrete proposals.”
Romano commended Inzaghi’s impressive track record, pointing out his successful spell at Lazio, where he won multiple domestic titles and made great progress in European competitions.
Although his relatively young age of 47, Inzaghi has eight years of managerial experience, making him one of the more seasoned contenders in the running for the Liverpool post.
However, Romano tempered the excitement by pointing out that he does not yet have enough information to confirm Inzaghi’s candidacy for the Liverpool post.
In addition, with speculations indicating that Inzaghi is about to sign a new contract with Inter Milan, the likelihood of him joining Liverpool becomes less likely.
Yet Inzaghi’s track record as a successful manager may make him a potential alternative for Liverpool’s future. While the speculation continues, Romano warned that Liverpool may need to consider other options as Jurgen Klopp’s time nears an end.
