Former Liverpool player Suso seeking a return to the club

The Spaniard has flourished in Italy

Suso joined AC Milan from Liverpool on a free transfer in 2015 and has been one of the mainstays for the club. He has flourished since moving to Italy and is among the most constant players, who has a knack of doing well in the Milan derbies.

The Spaniard joined Genoa on loan in the 2015-2016 season but the 2016-17 campaign proved to be a breakthrough one for. He scored 8 goals in 50 appearances for the club.

The 24 year old has been a regular this season, scoring 8 goals and assisting 7 in 47 appearances. His form has also earned him Senior International recognition.

He signed a new contract extension last September valid until the summer of 2022 and has a release clause of  €40 million.

The winger has recently been linked with a return to his former club Liverpool as the club have been impressed by him during his tenure with the Serie A giants. He came through the ranks of the Reds but struggled to find regular playing time and left the club in order to get more first team football.

The player has also expressed his desire to return to England as he wants another shot ar the Premier League. But intends to honour his deal at AC Milan.

Suso told The Guardian: “In a sense I became a man before I became a footballer. It was very hard with the lifestyle and language.

“But to this day I remember everything. I did not play that much but I got to know Steven Gerrard and be a team-mate of players such as Luis Suarez, Philippe Coutinho and Jamie Carragher. I’ll never forget my experience at Liverpool.

“Premier League football is different, I would call it special: I would like to play for Liverpool again some day. I grew up there and it is a big club.”
