Georginio Wijnaldum insists it won’t be easy for Liverpool when they travel to the other part of the Merseyside to take on Everton.

Liverpool thrashed Watford 5-0 to set the tone for the Merseyside derby. A brace each from Sadio Mane and Virgil van Dijk handed the Reds one of their biggest Premier League victories while Gylfi Siggurdson inspired the Toffees as they blanked Cardiff City 3-0 to flex their muscles.

Last time a bad howler from Jordan Pickford cost them a massive three points as Divock Origi pounced on the loose ball to net the winner in the final minutes.

Everton haven’t been able to cause much damage to their archrivals but given the current momentum they would definitely fancy their chances in front of their home crowd at the Goodison Park

Wijnaldum said, “I expect it is going to be a big fight.

“It was a good game last time we played them. They were really good, better than all the times I’d played them before.

I don’t expect them to be less motivated than they were before. I think it’s going to be a difficult game.

“Every game is different. They can have a bad run and something can change and make them good again.”
