Liverpool are yet to announce the signing of Darwin Nunez.

The 22-year-old forward will make his move to Liverpool and the Reds will initially pay a fee of £67.50m for the Benfica striker.

He along with Erling Haaland of Manchester City is expected to provide tough competition to Harry Kane in the race for the Golden Boot in the new season.

The England captain was asked about the prospect of competing with these two new forwards in the upcoming season.

“The battle for the Golden Boot is always tough, the Premier League has produced some top strikers around the world for a number of years now,” said Kane.

“Every season I’ve been playing it’s always been a tough battle to win the Golden boot and it’s no different.

“You expect the top strikers to want to play in the Premier League, and with those two signings it’s going to be the case.

“I think it helps me as a player to have good competition, it drives me to improve and get better and I’ll look forward to the challenge.”
