Harry Redknapp is backing Liverpool to win the Premier League title over Manchester City.
The former Tottenham Hotspur manager has tipped Liverpool against the bookmakers to beat previous season’s champions.
“If I had one club I’d love to have managed it would have been Liverpool,” Redknapp told the Daily Mail. “I loved them. I can see them winning the league this year. Give them the title and give it to them now. I’ve had a big bet and I think the bookmakers should pay me out!”
Liverpool are a whopping 8 points clear at the top after winning all 8 of their games so far. City fell to two shock defeats against Norwich City and Wolves but are still in second place.
“City are going to have to hang on to the coat-tails of Liverpool in the next few months because they’ve got certain players out injured that are a big loss to them,” Tony Cascarino told talkSPORT. “Obviously De Bruyne and Laporte are just as important.
“They have to keep that gap at eight points because I can only see Liverpool extending it in the months to come, I don’t see City getting closer. It’s not like last season. Last season happened because City were a much better team. They’re not as good a side this year, whether it’s injury-based.”
