Jordan Henderson is confident that Liverpool can hurt Bayern in Munich

Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has said that his team can hurt Bayern Munich in the second leg of the Champions League last-16 tie at the Allianz Arena in three weeks time.

The first leg at Anfield ended in 0-0 draw, leaving everything to be played for down in Munich.

Talking about the balance of the tie and possibilities, Henderson said:

“It’s still alive for sure. Obviously we’ve got games before but we’ve got to be confident still going away there.

“We know how good they are as a team, we know it’ll be difficult there again, but we’ve got experience in the Champions League and I feel that we can go there and hurt them.

“It’s not the worst result in the world. We would’ve liked it to have been better, we would’ve probably liked to score one or two goals, but that’s the way it is. We’ll dust ourselves down and we’ll go again.”

“It’s obviously disappointing that we haven’t scored, but again we’ve kept a clean sheet and defended well, which is a positive.

“We had enough chances I feel, especially first half, to score one or two, but it’s not the worst result in the world.”

Liverpool now turn their attention towards a mammoth league game away at Manchester United this Sunday.
