One of the rising stars of world football, Jadon Sancho believes that the upcoming season could be Rhian Brewster’s breakthrough season.

After a long-term injury ruled him out for most of 2018/19 season, Brewster found a place in Jurgen Klopp’s squad for the iconic clash against Barcelona at Anfield although he was an unused substitute. He was also an unused substitute when Liverpool won their 6th Champions League title in Madrid.

Brewster gained prominence through his performances in the FIFA U17 World Cup in India where he was the top scorer with 8 goals and also provided an assist as England won their maiden U17 World Cup.

In addition to the Golden Boot, Brewster also won the Bronze Ball for being the third best player throughout the competition.

Brewster is tipped to be a future star and his U17 teammate Jadon Sancho feels the same after Brewster’s excellent pre-season performances so far.

Sancho said: “I feel like he can do it. I have played with him. I know how good he is. He causes defenders nightmares. He is a great player. I feel like he is at the right club, he is developing and he is still so young. He is developing and that is the main thing. Just give him the time and patience and you will see. I played with him a lot for England and he scored a lot of goals for us and I have assisted him. It’s a good thing for us to have someone like him.”

Brewster has done brilliantly for Liverpool in their pre-season matches so far. He has scored 4 goals in Liverpool’s three pre-season matches so far. There’s no doubt that Brewster will feature in many of Liverpool’s pre-season fixtures.Provided he keeps on doing well, who knows maybe the 19-year old could get some playing time at the Community Shield against Manchester City which is just a couple of weeks away from now. Given that Sadio Mane could miss the Community Shield following a hectic AFCON campaign, there’s every possibility that Jurgen Klopp could use Brewster during the Community Shield.
