Winning last season’s Champions League and being at the top of the Premier League table consistently throughout the 2019-20 season isn’t enough for James Milner at Liverpool.
That’s right – Milner wants more. He is confident that after the recent success and winning the CL trophy last season, there is more silverware waiting for Jurgen Klopp’s side still. He also compared his time at Man City to that Liverpool – and said it’s a similar curve for the Reds as well.
“It’s a similar thing that we had at Man City,” said Milner, in an interview with Sky Sports.
“It was so important to get off the mark and win that first trophy and it was massive for us as a group. It’s always important to win that first one and we managed to get the Super Cup and the World Championship this year and it’d be nice to add more.
“But it was big to get over the line and add that first one together as a team and that then gives you all the tools to go on and push on, and hopefully we can win more.
For Milner, Liverpool isn’t a one-time success team. He believes that the success of the club will keep happening every season – if they push themselves.
“We don’t want to be known as the team that won just that one trophy, we want to push on and see if we can win as many as we can.”
