Liverpool has targetted Aston Villa midfielder Jacob Ramsey this summer.
The English midfielder has been a regular in Steven Gerrard’s starting lineup.
The 21-year-old has registered seven goals and three assists in 71 appearances for Aston Villa’s first-team.
His contract with Aston Villa expires in the summer of 2027 and Liverpool will have to pay a hefty sum to secure his services.
Club legend Jamie Carragher is a fan of the 21-year-old talented midfielder.
“I love him. He’s a super player. He doesn’t look like a young kid playing in a man’s game,” he told Sky Sports.
“When you think of the game against Man City, I thought it was interesting that he played as part of the front three, and tonight he played in midfield (against Southampton at Villa Park last weekend).
“I spoke to Gary McAllister before the game, I said to him: ‘How good is Ramsey?’ And he said he can go right to the top.
“We’re talking about international honours and playing in the Champions League. I think he can certainly play at that level in the next couple of years.”
