Jurgen Klopp insists the lack of cleansheets is not ideal for Liverpool but he is not overly concerned about it either.
The Reds have so far kept only 3 cleansheets in all competitions, finishing Tuesday’s Champions League fixture 2-1 against KRC Genk.
Strikes from Giorgio Wijnaldum and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain helped them steal all three points but a spell of poor defending forced them to concede a needless goal.
“It’s not really a worry, to be honest, but it’s of course not what we want,” the Liverpool boss told BT Sport.
“All the goals we conceded were completely different. They were all different, so it’s not about defending, it’s about being 100 per cent spot on in the situations and we were not. We know that and it’s what we have to work on and what we will do.”
Liverpool’s victory over the Belgian side and Napoli’s draw against RB Salzburg helped Klopp’s side move a point clear to the top of Group E. Just one more win would secure their place in the knockout stages of the competition.
As for Klopp, he chose to rest some of his key players for the upcoming tie against Manchester City. It could turn out to be a title decider as early as 7 months before the season even finishes.
