Jurgen Klopp clarifies his comments regarding Mo Salah’s contract.

The Egyptian forward is nearing the final 12 months of his contract and is currently in conversation with Liverpool over a contract extension.

Jurgen Klopp said last week that the contract decision lies down to Salah and the club with what they can offer.

Salah’s agent Ramy Abbas posted seven laughing emojis on Twitter as a response to Klopp’s comments.

Klopp said: “I’m not on Twitter, another good reason for that.

“I con confirm he (Salah) is in a good mood. I said at the beginning I spoke about that… actually I shouldn’t have, it was like it is. You (journalist) got me in the trap and all of a sudden I created headlines.

“The last thing I want to do in a press conference is create headlines and again if you just ask the question I give such a long answer.”

He then added: “It’s all fine, I don’t know about any kind of reaction or stuff like this. That’s not what I’m concerned about.

“It’s just I think that it’s how it should be in the moment. The decisive parties are in contact and the rest we will see.”
