Jurgen Klopp claims Chelsea draw was a positive outcome

Liverpool drew against Chelsea on Saturday at Anfield.

The Reds are nine points away from the Champions League spot and has struggled for consistency this season.

After the draw, Liverpool moved up to the 8th place in the standings.

This was Liverpool’s first Premier League clean sheet since October last year and the team had just three shots on target.

It’s astonishing to witness how Liverpool has fallen this season and looks like a midtable team instead of a title contender.

Manager Jurgen Klopp believes the squad is making a little step towards progress after the Chelsea stalemate.

“For me, it is clear, in this situation, you have to be ready for little steps, and this was a little step today,” said Klopp after his 1,000th game in charge of Mainz, Dortmund and Liverpool.

“That’s how it is. I expect progress, and I think from the last league game, it was progress, definitely, and that’s important.

“I know we have to do the good things even better and longer, in an ideal world for the full 95 or 100 minutes, and then we are there.”
