Naby Keita’s agent, Malick Kebe has hit out at Liverpool boss, Jurgen Klopp.
Fans at Anfield are not fully sold on the New Guinea international who arrived for a massive chunk of cash two seasons ago.
Keita has mostly dropped in and out of the Liverpool line up, struggling to tie down an important role under Klopp. Instead, we have seen Gini Wijnaldum, Jordan Henderson, Fabinho and now Thiago Alcantara dominating the minutes in a Reds jersey.
Kebe criticised Klopp for not playing his client in his favoured role. The £70m signing from RB Leipzig flourished in a box-to-box role back in Germany. His dribbling ability and energy in midfield gave his side plenty of attacking intent. At Liverpool, he has had to adjust to a different role, although not completely different from his old one.
The inconsistency in his minutes might have been a definite hindrance to his Anfield career. It is still too early to give up on the number eight.
