Jurgen Klopp insists Joe Gomez is happy at Liverpool.
The England international has played a crucial role for the Reds this season featuring in several positions across the backline.
He was scarred by injuries in the past and was sidelined for the majority of the season last year.
Gomez’s future with Liverpool has been called into question a couple of times due to his recurring injuries in the past few seasons.
The 26-year-old defender has been regularly used as a full-back by Jurgen Klopp this season.
He was recently linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur this January but such a deal seems likely for the English defender.
Jurgen Klopp has denied rumours of the defender requesting to leave the Merseyside club.
“He never came to my office and asked: ‘Can I go?’ No, never. It was always sorted before it could get to that point. We sorted a new contract, he wanted to sign and he wanted to stay. I think he and his wife really feel he is Liverpool through and through and so that is the reason more than anything else.
“He knows that in his time with his injuries that if you go somewhere and get injured you are just a different player but here he is still our boy and we will deal with it and you have all time to get back and that is a positive as well.”
