Trent Alexander-Arnold was one of the happiest faces at Liverpool when Jurgen Klopp signed his contract extension.
The Reds announced this week that they had extended Klopp’s stay until June 2024.
Arnold was one of the young Liverpool players who benefitted the most through Klopp’s arrival. He was given the nod at right-back when he was only 19 and now, he is hailed as one of the best players in his position.
“He has showed he is a world-class manager, if not the best in the world,” Alexander-Arnold told the club’s official website. “He has done special things for the club and obviously the fans all love him.”
“He fits perfectly. He has brought players in, he has moulded players into world-class players,” the defender added.
“We’re grateful to have a manager like him and obviously the more years he can spend here, the better it is for the club. So it’s really good for us to get a few more years out of him.”
The Reds moved 10 points clear at the top of the Premier League after last weekend’s 2-0 win over Watford. There senior players immediately jetted out to Qatar after the Anfield fixture to participate in the FIFA Club World Cup.
